به گزارش Weather Network آسمان آلبرتا در ساعات اولیه روز شنبه 20 مارچ میزبان شفقهای قطبی بود. اطلاعیه AuroraWatch از ساعت 1:10 تا 7 صبح برای بخشهایی از استان صادر شد و بسیاری از علاقهمندان تا طلوع آفتاب به تماشای شفقها نشستند.

برخورد ذرات باردار ساطع شده از خورشید با گازهای موجود در جو سبب پدید آمدن این نورهای رنگی میشود.
